Eastern Cape expertise will be on show at the South African Automotive Week (SAAW), which takes place in Nelson Mandela Bay from Wednesday, October 6 to Saturday, October 10 in the Moffett-on-Main Retail Park, Port Elizabeth.

One of the big attractions is expected to be the Perana sports car, which will be on show for the first time in South Africa. It made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March.

The upholstery in the model on display at SAAW was done specially for the show by Mario Levi and Mia Automotive, which are based in Uitenhage.

The iconic Perana Z-one was styled by Zagato of Italy, one of the world’s foremost automobile styling studios.
All the main structural work, the body and many of the components are manufactured by Hi-Tech at its factory just outside Port Elizabeth.

Mario Levi is one of over 150 component suppliers who will have products on show during SAAW, according to event director Andrew Binning. “This is an industrial showcase of some of the best the motor industry has to offer,” he says.
